There is some speculation this may actually be a new species but for now we list it as a cultivar of Cornukaempferia aurantiflora. Cornukaempferia is a very small genus with only 3 known species. Of those three two are not the easiest things to grow, only Cornukaempferia aurantiflora has proven to be a true winner in the garden and also in pots. The original cultivar , ‘Jungle Gold’ has proven itself to be a premier plant for the southern shade garden. It is easy, reliable, and makes an outstanding ground cover. ‘Jungle Silver’ is a relatively new addition to mix and virtually unknown in the US. It has more pointed leaves and a heavier silver pattern. Another great addition to the line up of beautifully pattern shade gingers. Very rare.
Grows to 6 inches in shade. Hardy in Zone 8 and above.
