Hedychium ellipticum is still a very new Butterfly Ginger in the US but one collectors sought for years. It is a beautiful species both in form and flower. It has lovely textured foliage and a relatively short size. The blooms are incredibly showy and unique and not quite like anything else. It is a naturally deciduous species so even in mild winters the foliage will disappear until late spring.
Grows to 4 feet in medium sun. Hardy in Zone 8 and above
