The Yellow Butterfly ginger offers large fragrant flowers much like the common White Butterfly Ginger but also has wider shinier leaves. It grows easily as do most butterfly gingers in medium sun areas. Unfortunately this gets called by another name in the trade all too frequently, Hedychium flavum. H. flavum is extremely rare and only in a few collections. Almost all if not all H flavum for sale in the US are really H. flavescens.
Grows to 5-6 feet in medium sun. Hardy in Zone 8 and above (some also have success in Zone 7).
