Growing plants will be restocked in late spring/early summer 2023
Globba globulifera is an easy to grow and reliable shade plant for southern gardens. It is also easily grown as a potted plant and stored dry over winters for those in colder climates. ‘Purple Globe’ makes a somewhat globe shaped inflorescence of purple bracts that produce the namesake yellow ‘dancing girl’ flowers. It is a bulbil producing species and will “seed” to produce nice colonies of plants. Bulbils are an easy way to propagate without having to dig and separate rhizomes. For the majority of summer clumps with produce long lasting flowers.
Grows to 1.5-2′ in shade, hardy in zones 8 and higher.
