Plants will be available for order late spring/early summer 2023
Globba schomburgkii ‘Yellow Dancing Girl Ginger’ is a classic ginger and one of the original Globba species first introduced to US gardeners. Despite rarely being available commercially it is well known especially among gardeners in the southern states. It is a very easy to grow bulbil producing species that makes long pendent inflorescences with numerous light green bracts. Although the bracts are green it is almost always covered in numerous small yellow flowers with the classic “Dancing Girl” shape. Bulbils can be harvested towards the end of the season and sown in spring or left alone they will sprout in the garden.
Grows 1.5-2′ in shade, hardy in Zones 8 and higher.
