Kaempferia pulchra is by far the easiest and most rewarding Peacock Ginger. Fortunately it is highly variable in the wild and numerous patterns and sizes exist. So many of these are not in cultivation yet but we are trying to expand what is available in the US. This new introduction to the market is a Gingerwood Nursery exclusive! ‘All Summer Silver’ was collected by retired Ginger taxonomist John Mood. It is a medium sized cultivar with the standard lavender blooms for the species. The leaves are beautiful patterned with hundreds of silver flecks that DO NOT disappear in the middle of the summer as seen in some cultivars. The lack of any other background colors actually enhances the look though we hope to hybridize this with other K pulchra cultivars for new looks.
Grows to 4″ in shade, hardy in USDA Zones 8 and above
