My obsession with Ornamental Gingers began quite early when my father had planted a few varieties given to him by a friend. I became interested in them but back then both plants and information were very hard to find.
The challenge to find more led to making contacts around the world, often typing letters (on a type writer) and mailing them overseas. I slowly
began building a large collection and was and still am always learning
more. Things have changed greatly since those early days! Throughout the years two things have remained constant, I’ve never stopped learning and the information available to the average gardener is still scarce and
often incorrect.
It is my mission to not only continue to offer new varieties but also to educate the public. I introduce new gingers through collecting, importing, trading and hybridizing. Educating the public through talks, articles, social media, and soon through the third edition of my Ornamental Gingers book.
